The New Jersey Devils are a heavy public dog, but have performed well in this spot. The Stars have either squeaked out victories or lost to multiple bad teams lately and have not performed well enough on the road to risk laying the -145 tonight. They are also on night two of a back-to-back, and are playing their fourth consecutive road game.
If New Jersey’s goaltending situation is too much and scares you off the ML, there is opportunity to make money on the over. You could even consider buying a half point and lowering the total to 5.5 (-125), though I am typically content to take the even number and be satisfied with the chance at a push.
