Sky vs Aces WNBA Betting Game Preview

Chicago Sky Preview

Despite being upset by Indiana in their most recent game on Sunday, the Sky still clinched the Eastern Conference berth into the Commissioner’s Cup title game thanks to results elsewhere. The loss snapped what was a three-game winning streak for Chicago. Overall, the Sky have still won six of their last eight entering Tuesday’s clash against Las Vegas.

Of course, the Sky were playing without a superstar on Sunday as Candace Parker missed the game with a knee injury. As she has been designated as questionable for today’s contest, bettors will need to monitor Parker’s status when making their Sky vs Aces prediction. Of course, Chicago does have several other capable playmakers, headlined by Kahleah Cooper. After missing time earlier this season with an injury of her own, Cooper leads the Sky scoring for the season and dropped 28 in Sunday’s loss. Courtney Vandersloot and Emma Meeseman round out the team’s quartet of stars.

Las Vegas Aces Preview

The Aces had locked up their own spot in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Final prior to hosting Minnesota on Sunday. Although they ultimately got past the Lynx, it was a much closer affair than the pre-game WNBA betting odds were expecting. Either way, Las Vegas survived the scare and will perhaps be even more focused this evening because of how Sunday’s game unfolded. The Aces enter Tuesday’s contest with a four-game winning streak intact.

To say that the Aces’ offensive prowess shown brightly on Sunday would be an understatement. Minnesota managed to keep pace and scored 95 points, yet still fell short. The 96-point effort by Las Vegas simply falls in line with what the team has been doing all season long. A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum led the way with 25 and 21 points, respectively. Each of Dearica Hamby, Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray also scored in double figures. All five Aces starters are averaging over 13 points per game on the season. As a team, Las Vegas leads the league in seemingly every major offensive statistic coming into Tuesday’s WNBA betting matchup.

  • Chicago is surrendering 84.2 points per game (PPG) this season (No. 9 in the WNBA).

Sky vs Aces Prediction

The Aces enter the day with an offensive rating of 109.0, nearly two full points better than any other team in the WNBA. Las Vegas also averages the fast pace of any team in the league. Given how fast the Aces play and how efficient their offense is, Chicago will have no choice but to try and keep pace. The Sky do boast a respectable offensive rating of their own at 103.4.

When it comes to shot-making, both teams are among the best in the WNBA. Las Vegas leads the league in both effective field goal and true shooting percentage, as well as virtually every other offensive category. Chicago is ranked third and fourth in these same shooting statistics. All signs point towards plenty of buckets from both sides in this game.

Now, the first Sky vs Aces WNBA betting matchup this season saw Las Vegas score exactly 83 points and earn the win. Mind you, that was a game that saw both teams shoot horrendously relative to their standards. On the season to date, Chicago has shot 46.2% from the field as a team and 34.9% from three-point range. The Aces have been slightly better still at 46.4% from the field and 35.7% from distance.

In that May 28th clash against one another, neither team could hit the broad side of a barn. The Sky connected on just 34.6% of their shot attempts. This included an abysmal 5-31 (16.1%) showing from beyond the arc. The Aces shot just 36.9% overall and 20% from three-point range. Yet, the teams still combined to score 159 total points thanks to the fast-paced nature of the contest. Assuming those shooting percentages even revert to average for both sides, tonight’s rematch will presumably feature plenty of buckets.

Sky vs Aces Prediction: Over 175 (-110 at BetOnline Sportsbook)
