Sit Kyle Pitts in Fantasy Football Week 13

Week 13 of the fantasy football season is a difficult one since there are six teams on bye, numerous injuries, and you may find yourself in a must-win situation. Facing off against someone who started DK Metcalf would only make this situation worse. Now, you’re forced to start the best possible lineup, and Kyle Pitts fantasy football owners will be faced with a tough decision.

As I said, six teams are not playing this week. This, coupled with injuries, may mean you don’t have a better option than Kyle Pitts. However, let me tell you why you may have better options since he is not looking great this week.

Sit Kyle Pitts in Fantasy Football Week 13

I would love for one of the “Kyle Pitts truthers” to tell me one thing he does well. Well, aside from being overdrafted in both fantasy and reality, but I digress. Pitts fantasy owners are in for a tough week, as he faces a matchup with the New York Jets. That is enough for you to sit him despite all of the teams on bye.

The Jets are an average fantasy football defense against opposing tight ends this season. However, calling Pitts a tight end would be ignorant. He has lined up as an in-line tight end on 27% of his snaps this season. However, Kyle Pitts has lined up out wide on 26% of the snaps and in the slot on 45%. The Falcons use Pitts in the slot since he is unable to get separation by himself, so starting him off with some space typically helps a little and allows the player to use their quickness off the jump. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.

I say all of this to say that Kyle Pitts is a wide receiver and the Jets will guard him like one. The Jets surrender the second-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season, and they will be tough against both him and Drake London this week. I cannot imagine Desmond Ridder will be the one to crack the code against this defense.
