The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The draft will take place in Green Bay, WI, which brings plenty of potential challenges. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 25th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 26th. Notably, Shedeur Sanders has said he will not be attending the 2025 NFL Draft despite being a projected first-round pick.
Shedeur Sanders Scouting Report
Strengths
There isn’t a quarterback in this draft class who is more confident and cool in the big moments. Being the son of Coach Prime will prepare you for that. He is both tough-minded and physically tough. Sanders was hit plenty in college both on the field and in the media.
He can extend plays in the pocket and will always be looking downfield to capitalize on a big play. Sanders’ fundamentals are also solid, from his smooth delivery to his lower body activation — everything is in sync.
Weaknesses
While capable of making throws, Sanders doesn’t have the most talented arm. He wasn’t exceptional at anything in particular in college, and the worry is that this could be made worse at the NFL level. While Sanders can extend plays within the pocket, he does it too often. He isn’t super mobile, resulting in taking too many unneeded hits. Not only could this obviously lead to injuries, but it could bring turnovers and terrible third-and-long situations.
Again, being the son of Deion Sanders comes with many perks, including access to some of the best coaching and resources money can buy. With that being said, has all of these resources meant we have seen the best of Shedeur Sanders already, or is there still room to grow?
