    Player Bio

    Position: Forward
    Height: 6′ 9″
    Weight: 210 lbs
    Age: 18
    Wingspan: 6′ 11″
    Country: France

    Strengths

Sekou Doumbouya possesses the ability to run the floor with and without the ball very well. He is a excels when he is able to build a head of steam and finish at the rim. Doumbouya is the most talented international player in this draft, which is impressive considering he first started playing basketball at 12 years old. His talents, despite his lack of time playing the game, should earn him quite a few looks from teams.

    Weaknesses

Doumbouya’s greatest critiques include his inability to find consistency regarding multiple aspects of the game, including his jumpshot, defensive intensity and basketball I.Q. While his lack of experience with the game can be seen as a strength given his progress, one must also be concerned that his lack of experience means he will be a long-term project.

    Player Comparison

It is doubtful Doumbouya will ever reach what Giannis Antetokounmpo is now, but many of the strengths and weaknesses Doumouya has going into the draft were said about Giannis.

    Draft Prediction

    Charlotte Hornets (No. 12)

The time has come for the Hornets to hit the rebuild button. The Kemba Walker era is most likely over for the Hornets, and they need to bide their time for another year, so the contracts of Nicolas Batum ($25.5 mil) and Bismack Biyombo ($17 mil) can expire after the 2019-20 season and Cody Zeller ($15.4 mil) can expire after the 2020- 21 season. With some top-five picks likely in their future the Hornets can afford to take a shot on Doumbouya and try to develop him so he can be a part of the future.
