Among the intriguing Week 4 NFL betting matchups in the late-afternoon time slot is this showdown between NFC West Division rivals. After faltering in each of the last two weeks, the Seattle Seahawks will seek to get back to .500 on Sunday. To do so, they’ll have to knock off a San Francisco 49ers team that will also be vying to get back on track after suffering their first loss of the season last week. The NFL betting odds have dubbed the home team as a short favorite in advance of this Seahawks vs 49ers showdown.

The following Seahawks vs 49ers NFL betting preview will give you the current odds, betting trends and picks for the Week 4 matchup, along with a stream link to watch games all season long.

    Seattle Seahawks Preview

After squandering a halftime lead in their first game back in front of the 12th Man two weeks ago, the Seahawks failed to spoil the same party for the Minnesota Vikings last week. As a result, Seattle enters Sunday’s NFL betting contest on a two-game losing skid. After looking impressive in the season-opener, the Seahawks’ defense has done its part over the last two weeks to remind us it isn’t a great unit. The secondary got shredded by Kirk Cousins last week and a supposedly improved pass rush could only muster one sack.

While the defense will certainly need to bounce back if the Seahawks hope to cover as NFL betting underdogs this week, the offense has also left a bit to be desired. The woes have been particularly noticeable in the second half of games. Seattle has yet to score any third-quarter points this season and was shut out for the entire second half in last week’s loss. Russell Wilson, D.K. Metcalf and Chris Carson were able to put together solid stat lines, but a lack of consistency has plagued the Seahawks’ offense thus far.

    San Francisco 49ers Preview

While the Seahawks failed to score at all in the second half last week, the 49ers scored 21 of their 28 total points in the final 30 minutes. Unfortunately, they made the mistake of leaving Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 34 seconds to get into field goal range. For the Niners, it was a gut-wrenching way to absorb the first loss of the season. In addition, San Francisco’s secondary could be hard-pressed to slow down the dynamic Seattle WR tandem.

While last week’s NFL betting contest ended in defeat, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was still sharp. He threw for over 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns. One went to Brandon Aiyuk, who appears to be getting back on track following his recovery from a preseason injury. George Kittle and Deebo Samuel also had a productive outing for the 49ers. The rushing attack was largely bottled up and/or phased out of the game plan with San Francisco trailing most of the second half. However, a potential boost could be coming this week if Elijah Mitchell is indeed able to return from injury.
