Things are looking grim for the Patriots, who are without their young starting QB in Mac Jones. They will likely drop to 1-3 after this week. It’s still early, but in a division now ruled by Buffalo, there is little hope as New England navigates their way into a postseason berth. Patriots fans rest assured, Bill Belichick will have his guys prepared to the best of his ability. Unfortunately for them, they are starting a quarterback who is 0-11 in his last 11 starts.
The Packers offense has not yet fully figured out who they are. The flash of ability rookie Romeo Doubs (8 rec, 73 yds, 1 td) showed last week is a great sign for the future, but can not be relied upon yet on a week-to-week basis. The Packers’ biggest problem this season has been an inability to move the ball on offense in the second half. Last week, Green Bay was about to go up 21-3 on the Buccaneers, but Aaron Jones fumbled and the Packers did not score a single point the rest of the way.
Their defense was able to limit the damage and cling to a two-point victory. However, the “score and stall” offense is not a long-term recipe for winning football games. With the best defense Green Bay has seen in a decade getting to tee off on turnover-prone Brian Hoyer, the offense should have plenty of chances to put points on the board and cover the spread.
