It’s another edition of the “Belichick Bowl” as Patriots vs Browns this Sunday will mark the 11th meeting between these two teams since Bill Belichick became head coach in New England. Like many others, the Browns are a team that the Belichick-led Patriots just simply seem to beat, despite the year, opposing coach, quarterbacks or any other set of circumstances. Belichick is 8-2 all-time against his former squad and has won the last four matchups by a combined 73 points dating back to Dec. 8, 2013.

This NFL betting preview will discuss our Patriots vs Browns prediction, NFL betting trends, odds and Week 6 NFL picks against the spread. But first, let’s take a look at this exciting NFL betting signup offer at BetOnline Sportsbook.

Patriots vs Browns Prediction | Week 6 NFL Picks Against the Spread

New England Patriots (2-3, 1-2 Away) vs. Cleveland Browns (2-3, 1-2 Home)
Date: Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022
Time: 1:00 PM EST
Venue: FirstEnergy Stadium — Cleveland, OH
Coverage: CBS

QB Comparison: Patriots – Bailey Zappe (27-36, 287 Yds, 2 TD, 1 INT) | Cleveland – Jacoby Brissett (103/161), 1060 Yds, 5 TD, 3 INT)

The season did not start off promising for the New England Patriots, but Bill Belichick once again has found himself in a situation where he flourishes. We all know the story of Tom Brady’s rise to stardom. There are striking similarities between that, and the current situation in New England. No one is saying Bailey Zappe is the second coming of Tom Brady, but Belichick sure seems excited at the prospect of beating Cleveland with him under center. Zappe impressed against the Lions, ranking first amongst all Week 5 QBs in success rate (57%), completion (81%), first down rate per attempt (53%), sacks (0) and pressure (4.8%). While some of those stats can and should be attributed to the offensive line, that is just more positive news for Patriots fans, who should be feeling as good as they’ve felt all season going into this game.

The Browns have played well this season. Despite having a losing record, they have been in every single game they have played. All three of their losses came from a combined three points. Three losses, all by a single point, is tough to swallow for the Cleveland faithful, but the good news is nothing really has to change for the Browns. They have run the ball efficiently and effectively, Amari Cooper has seen a major resurgence, and Jacoby Brissett is playing the best football of his career. It’s certainly possible the Browns win this game, and have to do so by less than a field goal to cover the spread. The reunion of Belichick and Brissett should make for some great football.
