We are just a couple days away from the exciting Super Bowl LIV matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Betting on the Super Bowl outcome in general is incredibly popular, but it’s the variety of Super Bowl prop bets that makes this Sunday one of the most bet days of the year. There are few props that are more popular that Super Bowl MVP, and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is currently the odds favorite to take home the award.

This isn’t exactly surprising, as Mahomes was the league MVP last season, and he continued his terrific play this year. In his two postseason games this season, he has thrown eight touchdowns and completed 65.7% of his passes for 615 yards without throwing an interception. On top of that, he has ran for another 106 yards and a touchdown.

Should the Chiefs win, it would be surprising to see someone other than Mahomes receive the MVP.

With a quarterback winning the Super Bowl MVP in seven of the past 10 years, it would also be surprising to see someone other than a passer take home the award. However, rookie pass rusher Nick Bosa has the best odds of the defensive players to win the award, which would make him only the third defensive player to be named MVP in the last 19 Super Bowls, and he would be the first rookie to win it.

There are plenty of unique prop bets across the various sportsbooks, so make sure to compare odds before putting your money down ahead of the big game!
