The Green Bay Packers had a hard-fought win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10 that resulted in more questions than answers. While the NFC-leading Packers are without a doubt contenders, there are still some inconsistencies across the board. One of the areas they are hoping to sure up in Week 11 is the wide receiver corps, with the expected return of Allen Lazard, following the team activating him off of injury reserve.
Allen Lazard Returning to Packers
The questions surrounding the Packers’ receiving corps have been coming for a long time. First, they decided to pass on improving the position in the NFL Draft. Soon after, the only free agent acquisition at the position, Devin Funchess, opted out of the season. With fans and media alike complaining how there were no weapons outside of Davante Adams, Lazard looked to quiet those overlooking him.
Through the first three games of the season, Lazard caught 13 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown. Despite being out since Week 3, Lazard is still fourth on the team in receiving yards, behind Adams (741), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (463) and tight end Robert Tonyan (347).
Clearly, the return of Lazard to the lineup will be big for this Packers offense. Green Bay faces a tough Indianapolis Colts defense in Week 11, so hopefully Lazard will be ready to take on a large role in the game.
