Excuse me, but what the hell? NFL Week 3 has been so crazy that it’s hard to consider anything an overreaction on Overreaction Monday. It appears many of you on Twitter feel the same way, considering we didn’t get many “hot takes.” However, it is still our duty to overreact at least a little.

Every single Monday here at FlurrySports is reserved for Overreaction Monday since that is what the rest of the talking heads in the industry will be doing today.

While many fans and analysts overreact in earnest, we should make it clear that this article is mostly for fun and to poke fun at the people who are swayed by the last thing they see. That isn’t to say we don’t believe any of these overreactions, however. Additionally, I will post on Twitter every single week looking for your Overreaction Monday thoughts as well, so follow me and bring the heat for next week!

Overreactions to NFL Week 3

Sean Payton is a Fraud

Sean Payton was the belle at the ball this offseason, and Payton allowed the Denver Broncos to sign him. Fast forward to NFL Week 3, and what the hell happened?! Obviously, the Broncos were incredible last season, so the fact that Denver is 0-3 clearly is Payton’s fault, since he’s the only change.

Payton called Nathaniel Hackett’s short stay in Denver “one of the worst coaching jobs” ever. Well, congrats, you topped him.

In case you missed it, the Broncos lost by 50 to the Miami Dolphins. Obviously, this was a disgusting, disrespectful display by Miami. Still, the Broncos quit and someone needs to be held accountable. Sean Payton is the easy one to point the finger at since he came in and coached hard, arguably too hard, from the jump.

If we want to not overreact on Overreact Monday for a quick second, Payton isn’t directly the problem, but boy, Vance Joseph never deserved the defensive coordinator job and he deserves it less today. Change the locks on him.

Both the Bears and Broncos Will Lose Next Week

The Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears were both embarrassed in NFL Week 3, though Chicago’s embarrassments started far before their game. Somehow, the stars aligned and the two teams will face off next week in what is projected to be the most pathetic displays of football of all time.

If there’s a 0-0 tie, can we give them both losses?

Taylor Swift is the NFL’s Biggest Star

Taylor Swift was at an NFL game this weekend? I must’ve missed it.

Detroit Lions Will Never Lose Again

Playing at home, the Detroit Lions willed themselves to a MASSIVE 14-point(!) win over the Atlanta Falcons. Yes, the same Falcons team that is projected to be in the mix in the NFC South. So yeah, you could say it was a pretty big weekend in Detroit.

The Lions are now on an unstoppable one-game winning streak, and there’s no sign of stopping! Give Dan Campbell the damn lion that he’s been asking for on the sideline, and start clearing the trophy case! Or… build a trophy case, because they’re coming!

Side note: a Lions fan not knowing that “Super Bowl” is two words is incredible and says a lot about the franchise’s existence to this point. The future is brighter, though.
