Playing in the ACC with Drake Maye for a portion of his college career, there is a lot to go off when evaluating the Omarion Hampton draft profile. While there was never sustained success at the University of North Carolina, that was not the fault of Hampton’s. Over the past two seasons, he was one of the top backs in the country. Given his talent, eyes will be on where Hampton goes in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Omarion Hampton Stats 2024
During his time at North Carolina, Hampton put up some major stats that would put him at the number one running back in this draft, if Ashton Jeanty did not exist. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 25th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 26th. Omarion Hampton Scouting Profile
Strengths
At 220 lbs, Omarion Hampton is a big back who finishes runs hard. While finishing through runs, Hampton keeps his feet moving and oftentimes requires more than one player to take him down. Even with his size, Hampton has shown a strong ability to hit the edge on power and counter runs, as well as bring enough balance to make jump cuts when defensive linemen and linebackers sneak through the offensive line.
Outside of running the ball, playing in a pro-style offense under Mack Brown should be keen in scouts’ and general managers’ eyes. On top of that, Hampton has shown some ability to pass block, as well as work in the flat on routes.
Weaknesses
With running hard and being able to make jump cuts, it looks like Hampton only has one speed, meaning he will need to work on his change of direction and calculated running ability for the professional ranks. Always wanting to go 100%, Hampton must be able to let his blockers set up instead of running into the backs of them.
