Oilers vs Flames Betting Preview, Odds and Prediction

Oilers vs Flames is the final game on tonight’s NHL slate. It also happens to be the game with the most intrigue both from a fan and betting standpoint.

The Oilers look to avoid losing three straight for the second time in less than a month, while the Flames will try to extend their longest winning streak of the season to four.

Oilers vs Flames Season Series in Review

The Oilers vs Flames has resulted in a one goal game in three-of-five contests this year. It has also provided us with a ton of scoring.

In those five games, the Oilers and Flames have combined for 33 goals, an average of nearly seven per game, which is almost two full goals above current league average.

The Oilers lead the season series, 3-2, winning three in a row previous to Monday night’s Flames victory.

Oilers vs Flames Game Preview

The Oilers are a bit banged up, but their best players are healthy and ready to go, and that’s really what matters most with this team.

The Flames finish up a five-game home stand tonight, while the Oilers have suffered back-to-back road losses. So, where does this leave both teams?

I believe the Flames are playing a bit above their means right now. They are not a great team, and in order to find that fifth consecutive victory, they will have to go through an Oilers team who I expect will come out firing on all cylinders after losing their last two games by just one goal a piece.

The Oilers will also have a slight advantage in net via Mike Smith, who has won nine games, and earned two shutouts in just 12 starts this season.

The Flames will counter with Jacob Markstrom, who owns an 11-7-2 record on the season. Both goaltenders sit well above a .900sv%.

Oilers vs Canucks Prediction and Best Bet

This one is pretty simple for me. The Oilers and Flames have battled closely all season long, and are on opposite steaks that will both come to an end tonight.

My best bet of the night is simply Oilers ML (even). They are a better team and in a perfect position to rebound into a win. You can also get them at plus money from more than a few books out there.

I don’t expect a route, just a comfortable Oilers win.
