If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 7 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.

If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high risk, high reward pick.” The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally my high risk, high reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup.

After losing two locks of the week, I am back. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers battled out a great game versus the Eagles last week on Thursday night football. I went 2-1 on my picks, including accurately predicting that the Jaguars would win their first game last week. With that being said, we now have a little bit more of an idea of how teams will look in the future of this season.

Carolina Panthers vs. New York Giants

When it comes down to it this year, I think Joe Judge will be the first coach fired. The Giants are a bad football team. Saquon Barkley is one of a few playmakers on the entire team. The Giants also suffered injuries in the forms of Daniel Jones, Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney as well. This does not bode well for an already bad offense.

On the Panthers side, they are in the midst of a three-game losing streak, after starting 3-0. This is the game that can get the team back on track. The next two games after the Giants are against the Falcons and the Patriots, which are both winnable games. Obviously, the Panthers are without Christian McCaffrey, but Chuba Hubbard and Royce Freeman should pick up the slack.

Look for the Panthers to get back on track with them trying different plays and formations on Sunday.

Houston Texans vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are the hottest team in the NFL this year, having not lost a game yet. Kyler Murray has looked like a front-runner for the MVP this season. With the additions of AJ Green, James Conner and Rondale Moore, this offense looks like one of, if not the best in the entire league. The Cardinals also sport one of the best defensive lines in the league with Chandler Jones and JJ Watt. This Cardinals team is built to win games. Will they win them all? Probably not, but a matchup with the Texans this week gives them an opportunity to move to 7-0.

The Houston Texans are a dumpster fire. Their quarterback, Davis Mills, has been thrown into the fire without much support. They feature a three-headed rushing attack, although none of the three would be a starter on another team. The Texans field a below-average defense, which plays right into the hands of Murray and the Cardinals.

Look for the Cardinals to get up quick and for the Texans to have a tough time trying to match the Cardinals offense.

Indianapolis Colts vs. San Francisco 49ers

Neither of these teams is a particularly good football team, but they both do one thing well — run the ball. The Colts will have to travel across the country to meet the 49ers in San Francisco. Teams who travel across the country often have to deal with fatigue and uncomfortability. The 49ers are keeping pace in the NFC West and will need to continue winning, especially this week with the Cardinals playing the Texans and the Rams playing the Lions.

Why I like the 49ers in this game is due to their pass rush. The 49ers feature one of the best defensive lines in the league. With Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead rushing the passer and Fred Warner patrolling the middle of the field, Carson Wentz could be in for a long Sunday night.

Look for the 49ers to get after Wentz early and rely on their run game to win on Sunday night.
