If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 16 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.

If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick.” The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally my high risk, high reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup.

Last week, I went 2-1 on my picks with the Dolphins winning my lock of the week. The Jaguars once again lost, but I know there is a win out there yet – just where is it? With that being said, we are getting limited on teams left to pick for the lock of the week.

Teams Used for “Lock of the Week”

  1. San Francisco 49ers
  2. Green Bay Packers
  3. Arizona Cardinals
  4. New Orleans Saints
  5. Las Vegas Raiders
  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  7. Carolina Panthers
  8. Los Angeles Rams
  9. Indianapolis Colts
  10. Baltimore Ravens
  11. New England Patriots
  12. Washington Football Team
  13. Minnesota Vikings
  14. Seattle Seahawks
  15. Miami Dolphins

Lock of the Week | Week 16 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Houston Texans

With the Los Angeles Chargers’ loss to the Chiefs last week, you have to imagine they are hungry for a win. This is the perfect game to get back on track. The Texans are probably the worst team in the NFL this season. Austin Ekeler was put onto the COVID-19 list, but I don’t think it is that big of a deal. The Chargers should not need to rely on Ekeler to win this game. This is a game though where the pass can set up the run. Given that Keenan Allen and Mike Williams can take advantage of a bad Texans defense, the Chargers should score a lot of points.

The Chargers also have an opportunity to run some schemes on defense. David Mills is not too much to worry about. Look for the Chargers to try and run different stunts and blitzes against the Texans.

Value Pick of the Week | Week 16 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants

The Eagles need this win. With Dallas looking like they are going to clinch the division shortly, the Eagles will be fighting for wild card spot. With Jalen Hurts continuing to damage with his legs, the Eagles’ offense has been rolling. This does not seem like a game where Hurts will be forced to throw the ball. The Giants also have a quarterback issue with Daniel Jones done for the year.

The Giants also lost Sterling Shepard for the year, meaning that no matter who the quarterback is, the receiving corps isn’t great. If the offense is not rolling, then the defense will have a tough time trying to make up points.

Look for the Eagles to get an emotional divisional win on Sunday.

High-Risk, High–Reward | Week 16 NFL Survivor Pool Picks

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets

The Jaguars were on an emotional high last week, as they were dealing with losing Urban Meyer. The Jets are the odds on favorite to lead the NFL in losses this year, which plays perfectly in Jacksonville’s hands. This needs to be a James Robinson game. In order for Trevor Lawrence to capitalize on that potential, Robinson has to get going. In a matchup with the top two picks in the draft, Lawrence seems to be the one who is being questioned more. Look for this to be a Lawrence breakout game. The Jets do not have the best secondary in the NFL, adding to why Lawrence should be on fire on Sunday.
