If you are unaware of what NFL survivor picks are, the basic concept is you make NFL picks throughout the season, but you can only pick a team once. Once you lose, you’re knocked out, so choose your Week 12 NFL Survivor Pool picks wisely.
If you are new to reading my survivor articles, what I do is outline my “lock of the week,” my “value of the week” and my “high-risk, high-reward pick of the week.”
The lock of the week details what team I think has the best chance of winning their matchup. This would most likely be a good team that plays a bad team. The lock is also the official pick for NFL Survivor Pools, meaning we will not reuse a “lock.” My value pick of the week details a mid-tier team that has a good matchup. And finally, my high-risk, high-reward pick details a bad team that has a good matchup. It may be worth it to look at the NFL betting odds for these games and place some bets as well.

Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders
The Denver Broncos come into their AFC West divisional matchup as six-point favorites over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos have quietly enjoyed a great season, going 6-5 through the first 11 weeks of the NFL season. They currently sit at the third position in the AFC West and are looking to move up with a win over the Raiders, as the Chargers are matched up with the Ravens this week.
The Denver defense has been pretty good this year. They will look to build on that number, as they take on a Raiders offense that has somewhat struggled this season. With shaky quarterback and offensive line play this season, this seems like a perfect opportunity for the Broncos to win the game on the defensive side of the ball. Through the air, the Broncos have given up just 12 touchdowns. On top of that, Vegas may struggle to run the ball as well, as Denver ranks toward the top in rushing yards given up, as well as they have given up just six rushing touchdowns this season. With how good Bo Nix has been recently, I think the Broncos defense is just too much for a bad Raiders offense.

Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots
This week, the Miami Dolphins are matched up with the New England Patriots. The Dolphins are a different team than they were four weeks ago. Tua Tagovailoa seems to be healthy, as well as his weapons. We know what Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are, but to see Jonnu Smith and De’Von Achane is that much more encouraging for Dolphins fans. That offense has a chance to take another step this week, as the New England Patriots defense has not been great. The Patriots are 23rd against the rush this year, giving up 1,412 yards this season. If Miami is able to get their run game going immediately, I would imagine we are going to see a couple of long touchdowns from Hill and Waddle. Even though their records may not say so, I do think that the Dolphins are a better team right now than the Patriots.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Giants
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers open the week as six-point favorites over the New York Giants. That comes on the back of the Giants making a quarterback change going from Daniel Jones to Tommy DeVito. While I am in the mindset that the Giants offense probably can’t get worse with DeVito at quarterback, I think it will take some time for the offense to fully gel. As for the Buccaneers, they are expected to get Mike Evans back this week. That is going to be a huge upgrade to a passing offense that has certainly regressed since the start of the season. What I think can work in this game for the Bucs though is their run game. The Giants have struggled against the run this season, giving up 1,471 yards on the ground. That number ranks 26th in the NFL. Baker Mayfield is at his best when working off of play action, something that can certainly become a theme if this run game gets going.
