It was a much better week of football this time around. We saw upsets, close games, big performances, and the final unbeaten team falling. Yes, the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills in the regular season. I wonder if Bills Mafia thinks this is different than every other time that has happened. Let’s take a look at the Week 12 NFL Power Rankings.

Our weekly NFL Power Rankings will be released here on FlurrySports every Tuesday, so make sure to check them out every single week to see which direction your team is trending.

NFL Power Rankings For Week 12

1) Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 1)

The Kansas City Chiefs are still ranked first after losing to the Buffalo Bills?! Relax. Yes, the Chiefs stay at the top spot in the Week 12 NFL Power Rankings. In fact, I would have been more concerned if they had won.

Patrick Mahomes has lost four of his five regular-season matchups with the Bills. Of course, he’s won all three playoff matchups. The Chiefs win the matchup when it matters, and it’s no coincidence that it will be when they have Isiah Pacheco back in the lineup. He returns as soon as this week.

2) Detroit Lions (2)

The Detroit Lions remain the most dominant team in the NFL, but are they peaking too yearly? Another start was lost on defense, with the Anzalone injury, but he should be back for the playoffs. The Lions are doing everything at an elite level on offense, and the defense is playing sound football. This is a very, very good team, but they need to stay sharp when it matters most.

3) Philadelphia Eagles (5)

It was close against Washington to start the game, but the Philadelphia Eagles quickly blew this game wide open. This offense has weapons all over, and their offensive line is getting healthier and stronger. Defensively, they are getting more and more comfortable in this new system, and all of the young guys are playing like vets. Most people aren’t talking about the Eagles as Super Bowl contenders, and that’s a mistake.

4) Baltimore Ravens (3)

Lamar Jackson continues to struggle against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that’s the case for most quarterbacks. This Baltimore Ravens team is still among the best in the league. However, their secondary needs to force more incompletions and the Ravens must be able to be confident offensively even if Derrick Henry is getting stuffed early in games. Of course, Justin Tucker needs to pull his head out of his ass. Two missed field goals in a two-point game is tough.

5) Pittsburgh Steelers (6)

In last week’s NFL Power Rankings, we talked about how the Pittsburgh Steelers are legit. Afterward, they beat the Baltimore Ravens. The offense is good enough to move the chains and not make mistakes, though they need to finish in the end zone more often to be Super Bowl contenders. Yes, that’s why they remain behind the team they just beat. However, as long as TJ Watt remains healthy, Pittsburgh can beat anyone.

6) Buffalo Bills (7)

The Buffalo Bills handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season, and I think that’s great. There are many Bills fans talking about how this Buffalo team is “different.” Yeah, they’re worse. Josh Allen is playing outstanding, and he’s good enough to win many games on his own, but his receiving corps isn’t great, the run defense is suspect, and the kicking game remains a bit shaky. They will make a strong push for home-field advantage in the playoffs. Again, that’s great and they should feel good about that. I, however, am a realist.

7) San Francisco 49ers (4)

The San Francisco 49ers lost another divisional game, and these injuries are really proving to be too much to overcome. Many fans are calling for Kyle Shanahan’s head. That’s a bit crazy, but it’s clear this isn’t the same 49ers team. This week’s matchup with the Packers will be a big test for both squads.

8) Houston Texans (8)

The Houston Texans proved they are the class of Texans, dominating the Dallas Cowboys. Pretty much any team can do this, but it was nice that Houston did what they were supposed to do. Nico Collins returning to the lineup is a big deal. Now, the offensive line needs to do its part in order for the Texans’ offense to play well down the stretch of this season.

9) Minnesota Vikings (10)

It was not a pretty win, but it was still a win for the Minnesota Vikings over the Tennessee Titans. The Vikings’ defense continues to keep them in every single game, and the offense has enough weapons to make some plays. The offensive line needs to keep Sam Darnold clean, and not frazzled, but Minnesota can compete with anyone.

10) Los Angeles Chargers (14)

This Los Angeles Chargers team is for real. There isn’t much different about this roster, but this is a team with a true identity, everyone is bought in, and they have confidence in themselves. That’s the Jim Harbaugh culture. They are confident in themselves, and they now expect to win close games instead of losing them. The Chargers are probably a season away from being true contenders, but they are a very dangerous team.

11) Green Bay Packers (11)

12) Atlanta Falcons (9)

13) Washington Commanders (12)

14) Seattle Seahawks (13)

15) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (15)

16) Arizona Cardinals (16)
