The sports equinox is here. All four major US sports in one day. I’m sure everyone reading this is here for one specific sports though, so let us talk about some NFL football and the best DFS bargains for Week 8.

Quarterback
Derek Carr, at HOU
DraftKings: $5,000|FanDuel: $6,900
Carr has not had the best season, but it hasn’t been pitiful. So far this season, Carr has 1,410 yards and eight touchdowns with a 74.1% completion percentage. Now, put that stat line against the Texans’ defense that has allowed an average of 275.6 passing yards per game and 15 passing touchdowns over the season. He’s definitely a worthy bargain pick this week.
Running Backs
Peyton Barber, at TEN
DraftKings: $4,000|FanDuel: $5,300
Barber, like every other week, will be splitting snaps with Ronald Jones II. For those using FanDuel, this may not be the shiniest bargain, but DraftKings has the RB coming off a bye week with a touchdown two of the three weeks before that at $4,000 is just unfair. For reference, that’s the same as Ty Montgomery and Jordan Scarlett. He’s a nice bargain in both formats, but in DraftKings it’s almost unfair.
J.D. McKissic, vs. NYG
DraftKings: $3,900|FanDuel: $5,400
Speaking of unfair, I own Kerryon Johnson in a lot of leagues. And while many went for Ty Johnson, I feel that McKissic’s previous experience in the league will have him ending up with more snaps when the game is competitive. Against a Giants defense that has allowed 10 rushing touchdowns and an average of 131.8 rushing yards per game, it’s fair to say whichever RB gets more touches is going to have a good night.
Wide Receivers
Cole Beasley, vs. PHI
DraftKings: $4,200|FanDuel: $5,600
The Eagles’ secondary is absolutely terrible. I would love to have more insight, but that’s all you truly need.
Jamison Crowder, at JAC
DraftKings: $4,800|FanDuel: $5,800
With Sam Darnold at QB, Crowder has 24 receptions and 203 yards. The Jaguars are middle in the pack when it comes to pass defense and have given up seven 40+ yard passes, meaning they’ll probably focus on Robby Anderson, allowing Crowder to lock up those receptions.
Tight End
Josh Hill, vs. ARI
DraftKings: $3,200|FanDuel: $5,000
Jared Cook, out. Drew Brees, in. Arizona defense, really bad at guarding TEs. This has brewed in a witches’ cauldron. For this price, it’s almost a no brainer. Although, if you’re really reaching for cash (on DraftKings), you can also go with Cameron Brate (DK: $2,700|FD: $5,200), but just with how O.J. Howard has been used, I don’t expect as much from Brate.
