The 2023-24 NFL season is flying by as we’re onto Week 10, starting with Thursday Night Football — a clash between the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears. Below, I’ll go over my top DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown picks for the Panthers vs Bears TNF Week 10 game.

Much like last Thursday’s matchup between two middling teams, this matchup is setting up to be another low-scoring affair with its total set at just 38.0 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Can first overall pick Bryce Young finally put together a solid NFL showing or will Tyson Bagent and the Bears’ offense do just enough to come out with the win and hopefully some viable fantasy numbers?

It’s going to be a fun one regardless because well, it’s football, so let’s dive into how you should tackle this week’s DraftKings NFL DFS Showdown fantasy football slate. I’ll highlight my favorite Captain’s plays and FLEX plays below.

NFL DFS Showdown DraftKings Picks for Panthers vs Bears TNF Week 10

Favorite Captain NFL DFS Picks

Adam Thielen ($17,700)

While Adam Thielen’s the most expensive option on tonight’s DraftKings NFL DFS slate, it’s for good reason, as he’s very clearly the WR1 in the Panthers offense this season. Thielen is coming off a poor 7.9 DKFP performance in Week 9, but he still hauled in five of six targets for 29 yards. Before Week 9, he was targeted double-digit times in four of five games.

He is tied for the sixth-most receptions (62) and currently owns the highest catch rate in the league (81.6%). Now, he gets to face a Bears defense that is allowing the fifth-most passing yards per game (256.9). While I am fully expecting this game to be as boring as possible and not feature efficient offenses, Thielen has been far too consistent and productive this season to ignore, even with Bryce Young ($9,800) as his quarterback.

D’Onta Foreman ($12,900)

On the other side of the ball, the running back room is light. While Khalil Herbert ($4,200) practiced throughout the week, he isn’t expected to play –– leaving the backfield to D’Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson ($3,600) against a Panthers defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points (241.7), fifth-most rushing yards (967) and most rushing touchdowns (12) to opposing running backs this season. Once Herbert went down with an injury, Foreman filled in nicely and has totaled 80 yards on the ground in two of his last three games.

I highly doubt the Bears trail by multiple possessions at any point tonight, leaving the game script even and in turn giving consistent opportunities to Foreman and company. Johnson totaled just two carries last week and hasn’t totaled more than eight in a single game, and should essentially be a non-factor other than in the passing game. Considering Tyson Bagent ($9,200) has struggled to take care of the football, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Chicago lean on the running game.

Favorite Value FLEX NFL DFS Picks

Cole Kmet ($6,600)

The value plays are rough for tonight’s DraftKings NFL DFS slate, so let’s roll with Cole Kmet, who leads the Bears with a 28% target share across the last two games. It’s clear Tyson Bagent has built some immediate chemistry with Kmet, as he’s hauled in 16 of his last 18 targets for over 130 yards and two touchdowns in that span. His ceiling is quite high at this point.

Kmet’s price tag feels low even in an expected low-scoring affair, making him one of the best value plays of the night. He’s posted at least 15 DKFP in four of his last six games and will be called upon often if Chicago wants to win this game. The Panthers have been stout against tight ends this season, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season but the offense has basically run through Kmet since Bagent drew his first start.

Bears D/ST ($4,600)

For those who don’t think Young and the Panthers’ offense can produce points, even against the lowly Bears defense, then this is the pick for you. At just $4.6K, the Bears D/ST feels like a great pick against a Panthers’ offense that averages just 17.9 points per game –– the seventh-lowest average in the league. Young has yet to have a solid NFL game and is coming off a double-pick-six performance against the Colts.

While I’m not banking on Chicago to suddenly be elite defensively, it will likely fluster Young all game long, especially with the recent acquisition of Montez Sweat. The Bears rank 30th in defensive DVOA (12.0%) so please temper your expectations but want some good news? Carolina ranks 31st in offensive DVOA (-26.0%), so if there was ever a time for Chicago’s defense to return fantasy value, this is the time. Plus, the game script should be even throughout, so there shouldn’t be much garbage time opportunity.
