Tatum put up yet another 50-point performance. He now has four such games in Boston’s last 22 outings. For context, Larry Bird had four 50-point games in his career. Every NBA Playoffs, Smart has one game where he looks elite from three-point range. Game 3 saw Smart shoot 5-8 from three-point range and 8-11 from the field for 23 points. The Celtics also got a great performance from Tristan Thompson, who has been begging to play in Boston in the playoffs, as he scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Nets got off to a hot start and seemingly took their foot off the gas. By the time they went to put their foot back on the gas, it was too late because, the Celtics were in the driver’s seat. The Nets’ big three all have playoff/ championship experience. This game will not faze them. Expect the Nets to come out extra motivated to go up 3-1 so they can close out the series in Brooklyn.
