Unless you have lived under a rock, you have at least heard of NBA Top Shot by now. Recently, they have both experimented with different pack drop formats as well as increased the availability for new users to get in on the fun. With their new “Seeing Stars” set, they are again doing both of these things.
**UPDATE: NBA Top Shot cancelled the first pack drop for tonight, March 4th.**
Recent NBA Top Shot Pack Drop Formats
NBA Top Shot had a premium pack drop a week ago. A very limited amount of lucky users were able to get their hands on these packs and moments. The limited availability and overall competitive market frustrated some users.
Then, last weekend, NBA Top Shot had a less expensive, common pack available in which users were able to pre-order their pack. This was designed for everyone to get some moments in their collection. Still, some users had to wait hours and everyone will still be waiting for these packs to show up for at least another week.
NBA Top Shot Seeing Stars Pack Drop
They are taking yet another approach to the Seeing Stars pack drop. Per the NBA Top Shot Blog, the pack drops will be split into three different times on Thursday and Friday, and that it’s one pack per user.
“Choose the drop time that makes the most sense for you, then hop in a queue at your own pace. We want users to enjoy the pre-All-Star Game buzz, so rest assured that the Moments available across any of the three drop times are the same and collectors are only allowed to pick up one single pack over the course of the three drops, no matter when or how often they join a queue.“
The Seeing Stars pack will cost $14, with 183,258 packs available. The drop times are as follows: Thursday (March 4) at 5 p.m. PST, Friday (March 5) at 9 a.m. PST, and Friday at 5 p.m PST.
