Nationals vs Padres MLB Betting Overview
Nationals Outlook
After rebounding from being swept at home in a four-game set this past weekend, the Nationals failed to get back to the .500 mark last night. Having now lost five of six overall, Washington will look for better results over the remainder of their west coast road trip. With Kyle Schwarber currently on IL, the Nats are missing a power hitter from their lineup. Juan Soto did his best to pick up the slack last night, slugging a homer as one of his two hits. Josh Harrison also hit a three-run blast while Yan Gomes and Starlin Castro both put together multi-hit efforts. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to overcome the six runs allowed by starter Erick Fedde.
Lefthander Patrick Corbin will be on the bump in tonight’s Nationals vs Padres MLB betting showdown. The 3-1year-old got roughed up badly by the Los Angeles Dodgers in his most recent outing and failed to make it out of the fifth inning. That ended a stretch of several decent outings in which Corbin had steadily been lowering his ERA after a poor start to the season.

Padres Outlook
After losing four out of five games, the Padres are hoping that last night’s victory got them back on track. The stars were certainly out at Petco Park on Tuesday night. Manny Machado had a monster game at the plate, roping three hits, scoring three runs and driving in one. Will Myers slugged a home run as one of his two hits and finished the night with five RBIs. Eric Hosmer also had a multi-hit effort for San Diego in the victory.
The Padres have to feel good about their chances in tonight’s MLB betting matchup with Chris Paddack drawing the start. He allowed just three runs on four hits over seven innings of work in his most recent start. The 25-year-old has seen his ERA rise a bit over the last several weeks, but he is certainly capable of throwing down a quality start each and every time out.

Nationals vs Padres Prediction
While his stats haven’t quite lived up to expectations at times this season, Chris Paddack figures to give the Padres a sizable advantage in terms of starting pitching in tonight’s matchup. Patrick Corbin has failed to find his footing in 2021. After getting shelled in his last start, it’s hard to get excited about his prospects against another daunting lineup. Will Myers has notably found great success against Corbin in the past. Add in expected production from Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado and the rest and the Padres should have no trouble winning the front half of tonight’s game.
