The New York Jets are an interesting team for fantasy football. They have invested heavily in their offense during the past couple of seasons, adding many new weapons to the team. This is especially true in the backfield, with the Jets drafting Michael Carter and Breece Hall in back-to-back seasons.

During the Jets OTAs on Wednesday, Carter spoke with the media after practice. His comments seemed to validate what many feared from a fantasy football point of view.

"There's enough for all of us to eat." — Michael Carter on the #Jets' running back room, including guys outside of him, Breece Hall and Tevin Coleman.

Michael Carter Comments Lower Jets RB Fantasy Value

Speaking to the media, Michael Carter spoke about how he, Breece Hall and Tevin Coleman will all be involved. While this is something we at FlurrySports had already said, it’s still an unfortunate comment for possible Breece Hall dynasty fantasy football owners. It appears we have a true running back-by-committee approach on the Jets.

Michael Carter totaled 964 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games last season. This led to him finishing as RB29 in PPR fantasy football leagues across 17 weeks. He clearly played well enough to continue to be involved this season. So, despite Breece Hall looking like a true every-down running back entering the NFL Draft, it appears he will be splitting snaps.

Breece Hall, Michael Carter, Tevin Coleman Fantasy Football ADP

All fantasy football ADP rankings come from Fantasy Football Calculator’s 12-Team, PPR data.

    Michael Carter Fantasy ADP

    ADP: RB29, 6.07

Looking at the data from May 22 through June 1, Michael Carter is the first Jets RB taken in fantasy football. As long as he improved in pass protection this offseason, there is a decent chance Carter sees the largest slice of the pie in Week 1.

However, this looks to be a true committee where they will ride the hot hand. Carter is also a smaller RB, meaning his workload potential is ultimately capped. Yes, he could be the most valuable Jets RB for fantasy football, but in terms of value, he currently is not the best value.

    Breece Hall Fantasy ADP

    ADP: RB42, 10.01

Breece Hall is the second Jets RB drafted in fantasy football, taken nearly four rounds after Carter. Obviously, Hall was drafted in the second round this year. The Jets wouldn’t make that large of an investment without a plan.

Hall will be heavily involved right away and, as we said above, he has the skills to be an every-down player. But with the talent in the backfield with him, that is what caps his upside.

He is currently being drafted first in rookie dynasty fantasy football drafts. I could see those owners being disappointed, especially in his rookie season. However, the current Breece Hall fantasy football ADP in redraft leagues is a great value. Expect to see him rise a bit this offseason. If he continues to be second in this backfield’s ADP, he will be my desired target.

    Tevin Coleman Fantasy ADP

    ADP: Undrafted

As much as fantasy owners don’t want to see or believe it, Tevin Coleman is going to get his. He is still a solid, reliable player. Expect to see him come in on third downs to pass protect. We could also see him near the goal line to steal some touchdown carries.

While Coleman shouldn’t be drafted and likely shouldn’t be owned as anything other than a possible handcuff this season, there will be weeks where he performs well, frustrating us all.
