Star Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons was one of many college football prospects who decided to sit out for the 2021 season. It was really a no brainer for the Junior whose sophomore season was basically one long highlight reel in itself. There was no reason for him to come back, and with an entire season to prepare for the NFL draft, there is no telling how much more he’s progressed since his 2019 season. While he is certainly quite the athlete, not all is sunshine and rainbows with Parsons, which makes him quite the intriguing prospect.

Micah Parsons Draft Profile
Strengths
Everything. Seriously. His production between his first two seasons was incredible. He was a very solid player after year one. After year two however, he was a lock in the top ten. He’s an extremely competitive player who is not only quick but extremely powerful. His agility and quick bursts is that of a running back, and his top end speed is that of a cornerback. He is incredibly efficient in blitz situations as he can not only beat you with his speed, but also use his superb body control to work past and even through blocks if needed. He also has the athletic abilities to be able to play some man coverage as well. What can’t this guy do?
Weaknesses
There aren’t many knocks against Parsons when it comes to his game. He does sometimes show a lack of patience which can put him out of possession early on in plays. His hands aren’t very good which has lead to him dropping interceptions that were pretty indefensible. When running backs get some speed running downhill on him, he has troubles making the play and can be pushed back. The biggest knock on Parsons seems to be his attitude. He has an Odell like manner according to some NFL teams. His high maintenance personality has even been reported as possibly being enough to deter the New York Giants.
