    The most prestigious postseason all-star basketball game is back for this year in Houston, Texas, and like every year, it will feature the best and most highly recruited high school division in two teams, Team East and Test West.

    The first McDonald’s All-American game took place in 1978 to create a platform for top high school players in the country to showcase their talent after many years; it includes prestigious alums like Michael Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, etc.

    The 2023 McDonald’s All-American game will feature 24 of the best basketball players in the country. All of them are committed to significant colleges except Anthony, who too will decide very soon. The annual all-star game highlights some of the best basketball talents in the country. Last year, the exhibition featured potential 2023 first-round NBA draft picks like Dereck Lively II and Keyonte George.

    McDonald’s All-American Game Preview

    In 2019, before a two-year hiatus because of the Coronavirus, future NBA standouts like Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman and Cole Anthony were seen playing in the game. That said, not every player in the All-American game is guaranteed to go to professional stardom, but many will go and have prolific college careers.

    This year, the roster of 24 players has been selected from over 700 nominees, and eleven schools have been able to land their recruits in the all-star game. Kentucky is leading with four recruits, Duke (three), Michigan State (two) and Oregon (two), Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Texas and USC all have one McDonald’s All-American recruit.

    Among other players, Bronny James, the oldest son of Lakers legend LeBron James, and the country’s top-four prospects, Justin Edwards, Isaiah Collier and Aaron Bradshaw, D.J. Wagner will play in the 2023 McDonald’s All-American Game
