Mavericks vs Suns Prediction

In many ways, Game 6 of this series was a complete and total opposite outcome of what transpired in Game 5. Both the Mavericks and Suns have had their role players step up at home. Not only have both teams been winning outright on their home floor, but they have also covered the betting point spread. Thus, a Phoenix win and cover would be the Mavericks vs Suns prediction that follows the series trajectory and stats thus far.

Despite the fact that the Suns had owned the Mavs prior to this playoff series, many analysts felt that Dallas had the personnel capable of pushing the defending Western Conference champs to deeper waters. That sentiment has come to fruition. The Mavericks are largely a defense-first team with a plethora of “three and D” role players surrounding superstar point guard, Luka Doncic. While Jalen Brunson can be counted on for offensive production, Dallas will desperately need the likes of Dorian Finney-Smith, Reggie Bullock, Maxi Kleber and/or Spencer Dinwiddie to provide a spark in order to win Game 7.

For the Suns, it will be important to leave their ugly Game 6 performance behind mentally in order to achieve success at home tonight. Phoenix was extremely sloppy with the basketball on Thursday night, coughing up a whopping 22 turnovers in the game. It’s very hard to win playoff games, let alone be competitive with that kind of ball security.

Ever since Game 2, point guard Chris Paul has struggled mightily on the offensive end. While he was able to find a better shooting rhythm in Game 6, he was also responsible for several of the Suns’ turnovers and distributed just four assists. The onus will be on Paul to ensure that the offensive operation runs smoothly tonight. If Deandre Ayton has another big game offensively, Phoenix figures to be tough to beat on their home floor.

Mavericks vs Suns Prediction: Suns 107, Mavericks 98
