Matt Corral Draft Profile

Strengths

Matt Corral may not have the physical flashiness that other quarterbacks have in this year’s draft, but he is the definition of a pure quarterback. He plays with confidence and improved his processes and decision-making each season with Ole Miss. Corral has above-average arm strength for his size, and his legs must be respected as well. He has the mobility most teams look for in their quarterbacks in today’s NFL.

Weaknesses

The biggest question mark about Corral at the professional level is his size and haphazardness to run the ball into trouble. Scouts question whether he’ll be able to sustain durability over time due to his willingness to lay his body out for extra yardage. Although his decision-making improved during the 2021 season, he still has some serious work to do on improving his decisions to throw the ball into double coverage, turning into easy layups for opposing safeties and corners.
