Entering NFL Free Agency, many view Marquise Brown as one of the top wide receiver free agents. After a following of WR moves to start the new league year, “Hollywood” Brown found a home, signing a one-year, $7M deal that can be up to $11M with incentives. Marquise Brown Fantasy Football Impact on Chiefs
When the Ravens traded Marquise Brown to the Cardinals in April of 2022, it sent shockwaves, as Brown would be reunited with his college teammate in Oklahoma, quarterback Kyler Murray. Sooner or later, it turned into disappointment, as he would finish as WR44 in 2022 and WR52 last season, in PPR scoring, and failing to surpass 709 receiving yards in either season while registering his lowest touchdown outputs. For the sake of Marquise Brown fantasy owners, let’s hope to see a resurgence of the Ravens’ version of Hollywood Brown, where he finished as WR36 in 2020 and WR22 in 2021.
For fantasy football, signing Brown was the move that the Chiefs needed, as the only wide receiver who was consistent last season for the Chiefs was rookie Rashee Rice. I think Brown slides in perfectly as the WR2 in Kansas City. He will be a legitimate flex option for fantasy football this season, especially when you have Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball to you. He will fix the struggles that the Chiefs were having at WR2, and it not be a revolving door of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore or Mecole Hardman.
