Manchester United vs Manchester City Background

Manchester City: Manchester City are on a roll, and that’s saying it lightly. Pep Guardiola’s men are unbeaten in the last 28 games across all competitions. City is 14 points clear at the top of the English Premier League Table. The attacking quartet of Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, and the man in incredible form, Ilkay Gundogan have scored a total of 33 combined goals. United’s defense has been great recently, but taking on City will be a major challenge.

Manchester United: Just as hot as City is, United is the exact opposite. The Reds attacking has been horrible of late. They have had three straight score-less draws. United are in a good spot, in second place, seven points clear of Spurs, who are fifth on the table. The real question for the Reds is, will Paul Pogba finally return to form. He’s only appeared in 19 matches this year, scoring only three goals and having 0 assists. The Reds will need big performances from Rashford, Fernandes, De Gea, and Pogba to get three points.

Manchester United vs Manchester City Prediction

Manchester City 2, Manchester United 2: The Manchester Derby will live up to expectations. City will start hot early, and control the majority of the possession. Fernandes will connect on a penalty to give the Reds the 1-0 lead at half. In the second half, Gundogan and Sterling slot home goals to give City a 2-1 lead into the 80th minute. United will win a late corner, which Pogba will connect on to finish the game 2-2. The points are shared Sunday at the Etihad.
