Kansas vs Texas Southern Prediction | March Madness Picks and Bracketology

This Midwest Region matchup truly fits the billing of a 1 vs 16 NCAA Tournament game. Kansas comes in having won both the regular-season and tournament championships in a Big 12 that was probably the best conference in the country overall. As for Texas Southern, the Tigers won the SWAC Tournament as a 2-seed and had to get past Texas A&M CC in a First Four game just to earn their spot in the main bracket.

This year marks the tenth time that coach Bill Self has guided the Jayhawks to a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Of course, seeding has not necessarily translated into titles as Kansas only has one national championship during Self’s tenure. This year’s team has all the makings of being the second. The backcourt is led by senior Ochai Agbaji and junior Christian Braun. In addition, Dajuan Harris Jr. led the team in assists as a sophomore while Arizona State transfer Remy Martin is capable of supplying impactful minutes off the bench.

In the frontcourt, David McCormack and Jalen Wilson will have a massive advantage in terms of size and physicality over the Texas Southern bigs. The gap between these two teams in terms of talent and statistics is night and day. With some sportsbooks already listing Kansas as high as a 22.5-point favorite, the current line at BetUS offers value on the 1-seed.

Our college basketball betting Kansas vs Texas Southern prediction tonight will be Kansas -21.5 at BetUS.

For what it’s worth, the ESPN Matchup Predictor gives Kansas a 96.8% chance to win.

    Bet: Kansas -21.5
