Kansas comes in having won both the regular-season and tournament championships in a Big 12 that was probably the best conference in the country overall. As for Texas Southern, the Tigers won the SWAC Tournament as a 2-seed and had to get past Texas A&M CC in a First Four game just to earn their spot in the main bracket.
