Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Football Outlook Following Disappointing Start

Week 1 Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Stats

The Colts stumbled out of the gates to break even with the Houston Texans for a tie. However, the Colts relied heavily on Taylor, who had his best game so far. He posted 161 rushing yards on 31 carries for one touchdown. Additionally, he reeled in four catches for 14 yards. The Colts and fans wanted this type of energy from the star RB. However, this game left some question marks for the team as a whole.

Week 2 Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Stats

This was a truly ugly and awful outing for Frank Reich and company. The Colts were shut out by the Jacksonville Jaguars. While one might expect the team to rely on its superstar, what happened is that the Colts were stuck on offense. Frustratingly, Taylor only touched the ball 10 times. He had nine rushes for 54 yards and one reception for nine yards. For the majority of the game, the Colts were playing catch-up after abandoning the star running back’s attempts with the ball. Obviously, this was a high hurdle for Jonathan Taylor fantasy football owners to get over in Week 2.

Week 3 Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Stats

The Colts pulled out of a close game against the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat them, 20-17. Jonathan Taylor had 21 rushes for 71 yards, and three receptions for 20 yards. While this was a step in the right direction for Taylor, it was clear that the Colts wanted to give Matt Ryan confidence again. Ryan threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns. This was a statement game for Ryan and company to prove they can win games through the air, especially against high-profile teams like the Chiefs.

While the Colts got their first win of the season, Jonathan Taylor fantasy owners were still left with frustration.

Conclusion For Taylor Owners

The Colts have struggled to find their footing and identity as a team. Can they rely on Ryan and company to compete with other elite passing teams on offense? Are they the “one-trick pony” who can only win games if Taylor gets the ball more than 20 times a game? I know what you’re thinking, this is a fantasy football article about Jonathan Taylor and yet here you are talking about the rest of the Colts offense. Yes, that’s how fantasy football is decided. The real-life choices and consequences affect the output of our fantasy teams.

It seems that there are some questions afoot in Indianapolis that have to be answered for fantasy managers regarding Taylor. While there is no doubt about his talent or potential, there are questions arising about the offensive situations there. So, Jonathan Taylor fantasy football managers should watch the situation closely, in addition to picking up/trading for Nyheim Hines for insurance purposes.

This might be a controversial opinion, but I for one am stashing Taylor on my bench until proven otherwise.
