Detroit Lions fans are flying high after a Thursday Night Football beatdown of the Green Bay Packers. Now, they have other reasons to be excited, as do Jameson Williams fantasy football owners. The suspension of Williams has been reduced, and a return is right around the corner.

Jameson Williams’ Fantasy Football Outlook Soars Following Reduced Suspension

A surprising Jameson Williams suspension came this offseason, as he was punished for gambling. However, the second-year wide receiver was not gambling on NFL football, and it appeared the gambling rules were not clear. Nonetheless, he received a six-game suspension.

However, the NFL recently revised the NFL gambling policy, which means great things for Jameson Williams’ fantasy football owners. The new policy clears up the rules, and it also increases the punishment for betting on the NFL. However, along with the revision, Williams’ suspension was reduced to four games, meaning he is eligible to return in NFL Week 5.

The Detroit Lions are 3-1 and are running the football well. The passing attack has also been strong overall, featuring Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta. However, a deep threat and a legitimate WR2 could take this offense to another level, and it is a role that Detroit hopes Williams is able to fill. The next several games are appealing, as the Lions face the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, and then the Chicago Bears.

There certainly is an opportunity for Jameson Williams’ fantasy football value to be a WR3 with upside, given the schedule and this Detroit offense. He is worth a pickup, as Williams has the talent to be successful. Currently, he is owned in only 16.3% of ESPN fantasy leagues.
