James Cook Draft Profile

Strengths

James Cook will likely operate as one of those gadget running backs in the NFL due to his long speed, patience and quick-cut ability. His footwork and quick feet will allow him to make opposing defenders miss and potentially win the edge and show off his speed in the open field. His decisiveness and instincts are prevalent and he rarely hesitates when small holes open up.

Weaknesses

Younger brother of Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, James has similar qualities to his game but lacks the build and strength to fight off blitzing linebackers and safeties as well as break off tackles. Cook will bring little to no value near the goal-line and will rarely stay balanced when initiated with contact. If Cook is out there on third-down to block a linebacker, he will likely be in for a rude awakening.
