Dominant Rookie Season
Don’t look now, but the Bengals suddenly find themselves atop the AFC North, as we head into NFL Week 8. Aside from the team’s underrated defense, a big reason why the Bengals are viewed as contenders is that Chase has been absolutely dominant during his rookie NFL season.
Through seven weeks, Ja’Marr Chase ranks second in the NFL for receiving yards (754), second in yards per route run (3.4), third in yards per reception (21.5), fourth in receiving touchdowns (6) and seventh in average depth of target (16.5). He keeps defensive coordinators up at night.
