Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker Preview | UFC 271

UFC 271 — Middleweight Title Fight | Main Event
Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya (21-1-0, 15 KO, 0 Sub) vs. Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker (24-5-0, 10 KO, 5 Sub)
    Date: Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022
Fight Time: This will be the final fight on the main card, which begins at 10 p.m. EST.
Venue: Toyota Center — Houston, TX
    Coverage: ESPN+

The UFC 271 main event is a Middleweight rematch of Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker. The first fight featured the fighters unloading everything early, resulting in a second-round knockout for the champ.

This time around, we should continue to see aggressive striking, but it should be more technical. Also, expect to see both fighters mix in more kicks. With Adesanya clearly much-improved in this area since the previous fight, it would be a bit surprising to see a different result in the rematch. As he said after the first fight, “I was in the nosebleeds and now I made his nose bleed.” He has only gotten better.

However, following the Nunes-Pena fight during UFC 269, never say never to any result.

With the first fight being upright the entire time, we could see Whittaker try to take the fight to the mat and wear down the champ. Which camp are you backing tonight?
