Heat vs 76ers Prediction

As was the case in both Games 1 and 2 of this series, the Heat vs 76ers injury report remains littered with names ahead of Friday’s game. For Miami, Kyle Lowry being designated as questionable for Game 3 is actually an upgrade. Meanwhile, the slew of other questionable designations, including NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner Tyler Herro, is identical to what the Heat listed prior to Game 2. Knowing this, one has to believe that Lowry is the only player truly in jeopardy of missing tonight’s contest.

As for the 76ers, conflicting reports have come to light regarding the Game 3 status of MVP finalist Joel Embiid. One reporter went on the record as saying the big man will not be available for a third straight game. Another said Embiid is pushing to try and play in Friday’s contest. Pretty much the only thing known for certain at the time of writing is that Embiid has cleared concussion protocols. He also participated in the team shootaround on Friday morning. It will be interesting to see how the betting market and Heat vs 76ers prediction changes if clarity on Embiid’s status emerges before tip-off.

With Embiid, one has to give Philadelphia a shot to win Game 3 on their home floor. At the very least, the Sixers would be much more competitive than in the first two games of this series. From a depth standpoint, Embiid alone does not make up the gap that the 76ers face in this matchup. With James Harden continuing to struggle, Tyrese Maxey is really the only other reliable scoring option. Embiid’s presence would be huge in negating the massive interior advantage that Miami’s Bam Adebayo has enjoyed thus far.

Knowing that he has cleared protocols, one can’t help but lean towards Embiid being on the floor in Game 3. With this intuition revealed, there’s an argument to be made in buying low on the 76ers as a home underdog.

Heat vs 76ers Prediction: 76ers 109, Heat 104
