What is going on in Baltimore? News broke Thursday afternoon that they have suffered more injuries. They had already seen JK Dobbins and Justice Hill suffer season-ending injuries. Now, there has been a Gus Edwards injury that will reportedly end his season as well. Before playing a single snap, the Ravens have lost their top three running backs.

Gus Edwards Injury Update

This news came out of nowhere. Per Ian Rapoport, the Ravens had to end practice early due to the Gus Edwards injury, as well as an injury to star cornerback Marcus Peters. He noted both knee injuries were expected to be significant.

Minutes later, Adam Schefter reported the Gus Edwards injury was likely a torn ACL, which would end his season.

Edwards was expected to have a big season, due to the injuries already suffered in the backfield. Now, not only do the Ravens have to worry about who will be healthy for Monday night, but they must have concerns looking towards the rest of the season. Oh, and this season will have 18 weeks, due to the added game to the schedule. Disaster.

Ty’Son Williams Fantasy Football Outlook

The Ravens made two running back additions this week, filling out the backfield. First, they added Trenton Cannon. They also added veteran running back Le’Veon Bell to the practice squad. However, prior to the Gus Edwards injury, coach John Harbaugh had already said that Bell could have a role on Monday night. Now, that is looking very likely.

Still, it’s the Ty’Son Williams fantasy football value that most should be interested in. After a solid preseason, Williams found himself rising the depth chart. Now, he should be viewed as the favorite to be the lead back against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. Don’t blink, because things change very quickly.

Williams totaled 130 rushing yards on 24 preseason carries. By all accounts, he looked good. Still, it was the preseason. It would make sense to see him get the first crack at the early-down carries, while Bell mixes in on passing downs. Other veteran running backs, such as Adrian Peterson, Devonta Freeman and Todd Gurley, should stay by their phones awaiting a call. The latter two had already worked out for Baltimore this season.
