With the NBA Finals officially over, next on the schedule will be the 2021 NBA Draft. The Golden State Warriors had a commendable season, losing in the play-in game to end their season. Next year, they will hopefully welcome back a healthy Klay Thompson. However, there are a lot of decisions needed to be made this offseason.

The following is a complete look at the Golden State Warriors needs, as we approach the 2021 NBA Draft and Free Agency.

Golden State Warriors Needs Heading Into the Offseason

Golden State Warriors Free Agents

Here is a list of the players who are upcoming Golden State Warriors free agents that will either need to be re-signed or replaced.

  • Kelly Oubre Jr., SF
  • Nico Mannion, PG
  • Jordan Bell, C
  • Kent Bazemore, SG

The Warriors are no different than any other team at this point, needing to make some tough decisions this summer. Kelly Oubre Jr. has been a great role player for the Warriors during his time in with the team. However, with the Warriors looking to expand their championship window, it’s likely he will cost too much to bring back. As for Kent Bazemore and Jordan Bell? I would expect the same. The Warriors might bring back one of the two, but it’s not likely they bring back both. The one player the Warriors may hold onto is Nico Mannion.

Golden State Warriors 2021 Draft Picks

  • First Round, Seventh Overall
  • First Round, 14th Overall

Golden State Warriors Draft Targets

Davion Mitchell

Davion Mitchell is a great defensive player, that plays a style that will help him contribute right away in the NBA. The Warriors likely would love to trade both of these picks for another solid starter, but if they hold on to them, Mitchell would be a wise choice. He’s the best perimeter defender in the draft. He has a solid offensive game, and can shoot well. His role on the Warriors would be clear; Mitchell would sandwich in between Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and be a defensive stopper.

Corey Kispert

Corey Kispert‘s fit with the Warriors is almost too perfect. He will definitely be around at the seventh pick, and possibly at 14. Kispert is the best flat-out shooter in this draft. He thrived off the ball with Gonzaga and was able to play very well off of Jalen Suggs. He would be an immediate impact player, being able to come off the bench and catch fire at any time. His defense isn’t the best, but with time and experience, he should be able to hold his own against some of the best.

Josh Giddey

Josh Giddey is a guy like Kispert in the fact that he’ll definitely be there at pick seven, and almost positively at 14. Giddey is a 6-8 floor general who has elite play-making ability. The thought of him bringing the ball up the court and being able to find Curry and Thompson coming off screens is a dream come true for Steve Kerr. Defensively, he’s solid, and his offensive game shows a lot of potential. Giddey would be able to immediately contribute on both ends of the floor.
