In typical NFC East fashion, three of their four teams began the season with a loss. Two of these teams will be facing off on Thursday Night Football, in the New York Giants and the Washington Football Team. It’s a smart move by the NFL, as one of these teams should add a win to their record, making the division look slightly better early on, unlike last season. So, which team will move to 1-1 in this NFL betting matchup of Giants vs Washington?

The following Giants vs Washington NFL betting preview will give you the current odds, betting trends and picks for the Week 2 matchup, along with a stream link to watch games all season long.

Week 1 was a rough one for the Giants. Hosting the Denver Broncos, New York couldn’t get their running game going, so all of the pressure was put on the arm of Daniel Jones. While he did look improved, he still couldn’t do enough to put up points. Part of the issue was the red zone offense, as the Giants went 0-2 in their red zone trips, prior to a last second touchdown. Defensively, they were carved up by Teddy Bridgewater, and they gave up a huge run to Melvin Gordon. While they’re better than what the final score showed, it may not be by much.

Washington suffered more than a loss on the scoreboard. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick exited early with a hip injury, and he doesn’t have a clear timetable for his return. This means Taylor Heinicke will get the start once again. He looked more than capable in Week 1, and he should be able to move the ball against New York. Defensively, there’s no doubt that this is a strong unit. However, they didn’t show it in Week 1. They allowed the Los Angeles Chargers to convert on 14-of-19 third down opportunities, which is an easy way to lose the game.
