Playing over in Brazil on Friday night, the Green Bay Packers suffered a pair of losses. Yes, the team dropped to 0-1 at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. However, a Jordan Love injury also has the Green and Gold scrambling at quarterback for the first time in a long time.
The Packers may be without their newly-paid passer for over a month, which suggests they will make some sort of move. The QB2 is currently Malik Willis, who just got in town, doesn’t know the offense, and has shown he isn’t ready to play in regular-season games. Could the Packers make another quarterback trade? Absolutely! However, if they would rather sign a player, these are the top free agent quarterback options available.

Free Agent QBs For Packers Following Jordan Love Injury
Ryan Tannehill
The consensus top free agent QB available for the Green Bay Packers is Ryan Tannehill. This is mostly due to experience, as his recent play hasn’t inspired much confidence. However, with zero offensive line ahead of him in recent seasons, Green Bay would be a much better situation for Tannehill.
The 36-year-old is an experienced quarterback who is more mobile than his skin tone would make you think. Tannehill could step in and run this LaFleur offense in the exact same way Jordan Love has been asked to do. It wouldn’t be a situation where Matt LaFleur would have to change the offense for him.
Mike White
It’s time. Every season, a starting quarterback gets injured and Mike White injects pure electricity into whatever offense he is on. It may even be better if he doesn’t know the playbook, his teammates, or anything that is going on. Give him a helmet without a radio and let Mike White cook.
In all seriousness, White has shown the ability to let it rip. He is more than willing to check it down to the open man and not overthink plays. That is what this offense needs right now.
Mike White is currently on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad, so he will have to be signed off of that.
Brian Hoyer
Brian Hoyer is another quarterback who has plenty of experience in the NFL. Not only that, but he has experience with being elevated to QB1 due to injury and playing decently well. No, he is not a player who will put the Packers’ offense on his back, but Jordan Love isn’t that player either.
Instead, Green Bay needs someone who can read a defense and know where to go with the football. Hoyer will be able to grasp the offense quickly and do exactly that. In fact, he may have the highest football IQ of anyone on this list, even though he isn’t a flashy signing. After his services at QB1 are no longer needed, Hoyer would also be an infinitely better backup option and mentor than what the Packers currently have.
