The trade deadline has come to a close, which means the rumors surrounding quarterbacks like Tua Tagovailoa and Deshaun Watson can finally quiet down until the end of the season. With little action from really any teams, the NFL picture, especially among quarterbacks, remains largely unchanged. With another week of bye weeks and injuries in store, who can you trust at quarterback to lead your team to another fantasy win? Here are your three Week 9 quarterback fantasy football streamers.
Read on for three QB fantasy football streamers that are worth consideration for Week 9. In some cases, one might still be able to claim these passers off of waivers. In order to be included in the fantasy football QB streamers article, they must be rostered in less than 60 percent of ESPN leagues.
Week 9 Fantasy Football QB Streamers
Tua Tagovailoa | Miami Dolphins (vs HOU)
Tua Tagovailoa had a rough outing in Week 8 against a stout Buffalo Bills defense. His performance is probably why he is only rostered in 44.9% of leagues. Outside of that game, however, he was impressive in the two games prior. While those outings were against the porous defenses of the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars, it shows that he delivers when the matchup presents itself.
Enter the Houston Texans. Houston ranks 25th against quarterbacks and has had trouble putting any points on the board offensively. For a poor offense like Miami, this is the best matchup they could ask for. Not only has Tua shown up against similar defenses, but there is virtually no risk of Miami being blown out. As a result, Tua should have one of the best, if not the best, game scripts among quarterbacks this week. With his ability on the ground as well, he should have a safe floor and a hefty ceiling.

Derek Carr | Las Vegas Raiders (vs NYG)
While Derek Carr has not been amazing this year, he’s still been a heck of a play in fantasy. While he is only rostered in 57.6% of leagues, he is QB15. Depending on your league format, he’s been a low QB1 or a high QB2. The only two weeks in which Carr was a “bust” in fantasy were in Weeks 4 and 5, against the Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears.
This week, Carr faces off against a New York Giants defense that is middle of the pack when it comes to ranking against fantasy football quarterbacks. With Carr scoring 19 or more in five of seven weeks, he’s due for the same kind of production. To top it off, he’s coming off of a bye week with ample time to prepare for this Giants defense. As of now, Carr has smarter with the ball than Patrick Mahomes. With likely fewer turnovers, Carr should be a solid QB1 this week.
Teddy Bridgewater | Denver Broncos (vs DAL)
Rostered in just 27.8% of fantasy football leagues, Teddy Bridgewater has certainly cooled down with the rest of the Denver Broncos team after a hot start to the year. Even with the team doing poorly, Bridgewater has quietly been solid this season for fantasy. He’s been smart with the football and has thrown for 13 touchdowns to just five interceptions. In addition, he’s getting the ball to his guys consistently, as he has completed over 70% of his passes.
In the past two weeks, Bridgewater has found himself facing defenses with stacked defensive lines. While the Dallas Cowboys are no slouch either, it will certainly be easier for his offensive line to manage. In four games where Teddy has faced average to subpar defensive lines, he has scored 18 or more points three times. He even dropped over 18 points against the Pittsburgh Steelers as well. Although Bridgewater has struggled recently, this Dallas team will have to come to Denver and will certainly be getting gassed early, only playing more into the hands of this Broncos team. I’m not saying they’re going to win, but I am saying there aren’t many options as stable as Bridgewater this week.
