When it comes to fantasy football streamers, the defense/special teams position is always one to monitor consistently on the waiver wire. In deeper formats, it can be hard to find defenses that produce consistent fantasy points, which is why many fantasy owners opt to intentionally stream the position all season long, playing positive matchups over drafting a highly-regarded unit. For those doing just that, read on for three fantasy football Week 9 defense streamers that are worth consideration.

Keep in mind, there are only SIX teams on a bye (CLE, DAL, DEN, NYG, PIT, SF).

Defenses must be owned in less than 55 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the fantasy football Week 9 defense streamers column. All ownerships for defenses will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.

Fantasy Football Week 9 Defense Streamers

Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Outlook vs. LV (30.6%)

Multiple owners in your league will likely be looking for fantasy football Week 9 defense streamers since there are six teams not playing. The Jacksonville Jaguars could be a sneaky option for you. The Las Vegas Raiders offense is noticeably bad and struggling right now. If the Jaguars were to apply pressure on Derek Carr, it could look a lot like last week where they failed to score a single point. Turnovers were a hot commodity at the beginning of the season, but they’ve slowed down since then, forcing just one interception in the past three games.

I’d bank on Carr making one or two mistakes and the offense still struggling.

Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Outlook at WAS (28.1%)

Despite the Washington Commanders winning back-to-back games with Taylor Heinicke behind center, fantasy managers should start the Minnesota Vikings defense with confidence. The pressure and turnover rates are high across the last three games, totaling 12 sacks and seven turnovers. When opposing defenses face the Commanders, they score an average of 8.75 fantasy points per game (FPPG), meaning fantasy managers can get almost a free double-digit performance from a defense owned in less than 30 percent of leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs Fantasy Outlook vs. TEN (18.4%)

The Kansas City Chiefs defense is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum because they’re typically very bad. However, across the last few games, they’ve been viable for fantasy, especially in a matchup against a run-first Tennessee Titans offense. The Titans aren’t going to beat the Chiefs running the ball, so the odds of Derrick Henry doing what he did last week is extremely low. The potential of Malik Willis starting again is enticing too because he looked terrible in his first career start, completing just five passes against the Houston Texans. I’d lock in the Chiefs here and reap the rewards.
