Fantasy managers are now beginning to scout out waiver wire gems that could turn into potential streamers, due to injuries piling up and bye weeks beginning. The running backs on the waiver wire will likely be scarce in deep formats because of the sheer amount of injuries to running backs thus far. However, players emerge every week and if you’re looking for a flex or RB2 option, read on for three fantasy football Week 8 RB streamers that are worth consideration.

Keep in mind, just two teams have a bye week (KC and LAC).

Players must be owned in less than 55 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the fantasy football Week 8 RB streamers column. All ownerships for players will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.

Fantasy Football Week 8 RB Streamers

D’Onta Freeman Fantasy Outlook at ATL (53.3%)

Once Christian McCaffrey was traded away, it left just D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard in the Carolina Panthers backfield. Both backs had a pretty even split in snaps last week against the Buccaneers, but Foreman totaled more yards and carries by the end of the game. They will likely split for the rest of the season, but Foreman is a more complete back than Hubbard and offers just as much upside in the passing game.

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook at TB (43.7%)

Not many fantasy managers expected Gus Edwards to dominate the backfield in his first game back from injury, but with injuries all over the running back room, his role should be solidified. The Baltimore Ravens offense thrives when the run game is humming and we’ve seen what Edwards can do when the backfield is limited; he’s the workhorse. The Buccaneers are good against the run, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game (FPPG) to opposing running backs, but the Ravens aren’t going to abandon the run if things aren’t going well.

Latavius Murray Fantasy Outlook at JAX (26.7%)

The Denver Broncos are one of those teams fantasy managers have actively avoided because the offense is underwhelming and simply doesn’t produce enough points. With Mike Boone placed on IR with an ankle injury, that leaves just Melvin Gordon and Latavius Murray to split the workload. Gordon has been placed in the doghouse a few times this season already for fumble issues, so it’s very possible Murray carves out a more consistent role moving forward.

Temper your expectations on this fantasy football Week 8 RB streamers option, because this backfield has burned one too many fantasy managers this season, but the matchup is great and the opportunity is there.
