When it comes to fantasy football streamers, the defense/special teams position is always one to monitor consistently on the waiver wire. In deeper formats, it can be hard to find defenses that produce consistent fantasy points, which is why many fantasy owners opt to intentionally stream the position all season long, playing positive matchups over drafting a highly-regarded unit. For those doing just that, read on for three fantasy football Week 8 defense streamers that are worth consideration.
Keep in mind, there are only two teams on a bye (KC and LAC).
Defenses must be owned in less than 55 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the fantasy football Week 8 defense streamers column. All ownerships for defenses will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.
The Jacksonville Jaguars defense is inconsistent, but they have performed well against below-average offenses thus far, holding teams to low-point totals. The Broncos offense is about as inconsistent as it gets, and it’s very possible the Jaguars produce a great fantasy performance in London. Regardless of who’s starting at QB, they will make mistakes and get flustered from the pass rush. Jacksonville forced a ton of turnovers through the first few weeks but has been quiet since so hopefully they can find that spark again.
Opposing defenses that face the Panthers score an average of 8.0 fantasy points per game (FPPG), meaning the Panthers don’t score or produce large totals. For a defense at just 17 percent ownership, fantasy managers can find nearly guaranteed double-digit fantasy value at the defense position. The Atlanta Falcons defense isn’t flashy and has dealt with some injuries, but they’ve hung around in games. They’ve failed to eclipse double-digit fantasy points this season, but I’d take the chances on a defense facing the P.J. Walker-led offense.

The Tennessee Titans defense looked very bad the first three weeks but has stepped up big time since then, posting two double-digit fantasy points in the past three weeks. It’s worth noting they’ve faced some terrible offenses (WSH and IND) within those three games, but the bad offense trend continues. The Texans offense is one of the worst in the league and the Titans have been able to generate consistent pressure, leading to turnovers. I’d bank on another double-digit performance here against Davis Mills and the Texans.
