Fantasy Football Week 7 Defense Streamers

Los Angeles Chargers (33.7%)

News flash people: this is no longer Brandon Staley’s Los Angeles Chargers defense! Jim Harbaugh may still have plenty more to change and improve in SoCal, but the Chargers’ defense has already taken a major step forward under new coaching and leadership. So big a step that the Bolts actually rank ninth in fantasy points scored among all defenses entering Week 7. This stat becomes all the more impressive when you consider that they have already had their bye week.

Despite putting forth healthy fantasy production in each game thus far, Los Angeles remains owned in only a third of ESPN leagues. If yours is one of them, go ahead and capitalize. The Chargers present excellent value as a fantasy football Week 7 streamers play in their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Mind you, this is a Cards team that could very well be without its best wideout as Marvin Harrison Jr. was concussed last week. Kyler Murray will run around and do what he does, but L.A. should keep the less-talented Cardinals outfit in check.

Cincinnati Bengals (51.4%)

Did the Cincinnati Bengals finally find themselves on defense last week in primetime? Well, if they didn’t yet, they are essentially guaranteed to this coming Sunday. It doesn’t get much better than back-to-back matchups against the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns as far as situational spots to cure what ails a struggling D/ST. Cincy only ranks 29th on the season in fantasy points scored at the position, but that is destined to go up following Week 7.

Readers can rest assured that, so long as ownership percentages are appropriate, whichever NFL defense has the luxury of facing the Browns on a given week will appear in this column. Deshaun Watson is simply that horrendous. Cleveland has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points on a per-game basis of any team. A big part of this is 31 sacks allowed, which is eight more than any other team. Watson can barely throw for 150 yards in a full four quarters, much less coordinate scoring drives against a competent defense. The Bengals will be a solid streamer for this in-state rivalry.

Los Angeles Rams (3.1%)

For those playing in deeper leagues who need fantasy football Week 7 streamers, we’ve got you covered. After our pitstop in Ohio, we head right back out to SoCal for our final recommendation. The Los Angeles Rams have not been a desirable D/ST to own so far this season. The Rams rank 30th in scoring on the year at the position and are available in 97% of ESPN leagues as a result. Two key factors make the Rams an appealing streamer this week.

First, L.A. is coming off a bye week to get healthy. While this is important, the real key cog in this selection is the matchup against the miserable Las Vegas Raiders. This is an opponent who doesn’t know who its quarterback is, cannot run the football whatsoever and has a poor head coach. Oh, and the Raiders also just traded away disgruntled receiver Davante Adams. This is a Las Vegas outfit that already comes in allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. A WR trio of Jakobi Meyers, Tre Tucker and DJ Turner isn’t going to solve anything.
