Fantasy Football Week 6 QB Streamers Include Caleb Williams

As we enter Week 6 of the NFL season, the quarterback play is starting to come around, but there are still so many inconsistencies around the league. While the play is improving, it still isn’t top-notch football by any means. Whether that be strong defensive line play, a soft zone, or injuries, one thing is certain – this has affected many in the fantasy football community, leading to many relying on fantasy football Week 6 QB streamers. At this point in the season, I am not sure if you feel comfortable unless you have Lamar Jackson.

Fantasy Football Week 6 QB Streamers

Caleb Williams Fantasy Outlook (47.1%)

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are matched up with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. The Jaguars have been horrible against the pass this season, ranking 31st in passing yards given up (1,518 yards). On top of that, they have given up 10 passing touchdowns through five weeks. Look at what the Indianapolis Colts did last week. Joe Flacco gashed the Jaguars for 359 yards and three touchdowns. Now, the Colts were playing from behind in that game, so if Chicago jumps out to a lead, I would expect Williams to finish with 80% of Flacco’s numbers. Even still, that 80% is more than enough to be a solid fantasy football streamers option if you have someone like Patrick Mahomes on bye.

Based upon last week, it also looks like some of those frustrations with DJ Moore have solved themselves. Moore finished the game with five receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown. Williams in general has been able to get it going lately in regards to fantasy football, and that is especially true against poor defenses. Williams registered 17.32 points against Indianapolis and 23.56 points against Carolina last week. I would imagine that those numbers stay a little closer to single digits this week against a bad Jaguars defense.

Daniel Jones Fantasy Outlook (18.3%)

I have been writing about him for a couple of weeks now, but Daniel Jones continues to have a quiet, but successful fantasy season. Jones is QB14 this year so far and continues to use his legs to his advantage. Much like the matchup against Seattle last week, Jones has a favorable matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this week. This Bengals team just got torched for 348 passing yards and four touchdowns by Lamar Jackson. With the Giants’ poor passing defense, I would imagine that the Giants will be down in this game. That gives Daniel Jones that opportunity to put up a respectable fantasy day, as we saw from Jackson last week when they trailed.

In regards to the Bengals’ defense, they are middle of the pack when it comes to passing yards given up this season, with 1,094 yards through five weeks. The enticing stat though is, like the Jaguars, the Bengals have given up 10 passing touchdowns this season. Being able to get Wan’Dale Robinson the ball on crossing routes and Darius Slayton or Malik Nabers working deep, I think Jones has enough to rely on both his arm and his legs to finish QB12 or higher this week.

Jake Haener Fantasy Outlook (0.2%)

After Derek Carr went down with an injury in the Monday Night matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, it was Jake Haener who came in in relief. With Carr out this week, I am expecting Haener to see the start, as I am not sure that Spencer Rattler is ready to play in the NFL yet. Anyways, the Saints take on the Buccaneers this week. Tampa Bay has been very friendly to opposing quarterbacks in fantasy football this year, as they are 31st in fantasy points given up. Opposing quarterbacks have passed for 1,391 yards this season. While I don’t expect Haener to throw for 300 yards in this game, there should be opportunities for Haener to take.

I would guess that the game plan for the Bucs is not to let Rashid Shaheed or Chris Olave get behind the defense, giving Haener the underneath routes. As is the case with any quarterback with limited experience, they will take what the defense gives them. I think New Orleans’ game plan has to revolve around getting Alvin Kamara the ball in any way they can and, as we know, Kamara is electric with the ball in his hands. Add in the fact that the easiest way for inexperienced quarterbacks to move the ball is with their legs, and I think that you can see a little more scoring that way.

Jake Haener as a fantasy football streamers option for Week 6 is only for deep leagues where you are desperate. While it is not sexy at all, there will be opportunities for Haener to score some points this week, and that is what you are looking for in a streamer.
