When it comes to fantasy football streamers, the defense/special teams position is always one to monitor consistently on the waiver wire. In deep formats, it can be hard to find a defense that returns a solid value, which is why many fantasy owners opt to intentionally stream the position all season long, playing positive matchups over drafting a highly-regarded unit. For those looking to do just that, read on for three fantasy football Week 6 defense streamers that are worth consideration.

Keep in mind, bye weeks have begun (HOU, DET, LV, TEN).

Defenses must be owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues to be included in the fantasy football Week 6 defense streamers column. All ownerships for defenses will be provided and will reflect that of Wednesday morning, once waivers are processed.

Fantasy Football Week 6 Defense Streamers

Minnesota Vikings at MIA (32.3%)

Usually, the Minnesota Vikings won’t be a reliable DST option for you. However, against a banged-up Miami Dolphins offense, the Vikings find themselves among the fantasy football Week 6 defense streamers.

It’s unclear which QB starts for the Dolphins this week, but there are more injuries at other positions that could definitely help the Vikings defense score some easy fantasy points. Defenses facing the Dolphins average about 6.4 fantasy points per game (FPPG), and that’s skewed because of the Ravens’ fourth-quarter meltdown against Tua Tagovailoa.

Washington Commanders at CHI (22.8%)

The Washington Commanders have been a dumpster fire on both sides of the ball this season, but the new trend for streaming defenses is to pick the team facing the Chicago Bears. The Bears simply don’t generate enough yardage or points to intimidate opposing defenses and are top-10 in allowing opposing defenses to score over 8.0 FPPG. If the Commanders crumble and don’t produce turnovers, they’ll likely still be able to apply a ton of pressure on Justin Fields.

Los Angeles Chargers vs DEN (43.4%)

The Los Angeles Chargers are a tough defense to gauge because it is very possible the Broncos run all over them. They rank dead last in points allowed to opposing running backs, but much like the Bears trend, the Broncos don’t generate enough offense. LAC is filled with injuries too, but they should be able to fluster an injured Russell Wilson enough for him to make a few mistakes. Surely the running game and past two performances from the Chargers could steer away many fantasy managers, but they are worth it as a fantasy football Week 6 defense streamer.
