It’s that time of week when fantasy managers put their fantasy football waiver wire bids in. Last week, we saw plenty of injuries and poor performances from relevant fantasy players, which is why hitting the waiver wire this week is so important. There are some obvious adds, such as Puka Nacua and Sam LaPorta. Another player that should be among the top fantasy football waiver wire pickups is Romeo Doubs, second-year wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers.

Let’s take a look at the Romeo Doubs fantasy outlook and discuss why he is a great fantasy football waiver wire add to make today.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2 Pickup: Romeo Doubs

Romeo Doubs Fantasy Football Week 1 Performance

Playing against a poor Chicago Bears team and operating as clear WR1 with Christian Watson out, Romeo Doubs fantasy football owners got a solid performance from the Green Bay receiver.

Despite having a hamstring issue of his own, Doubs played nearly half of the offensive snaps and two-thirds of the passing down snaps. He turned this playing time into four receptions for 26 yards and two touchdowns. Obviously, the two touchdowns carried the Romeo Doubs fantasy football performance, as he finished as WR13 in PPR leagues.

Romeo Doubs Fantasy Football Outlook

Currently, Romeo Doubs is owned in 46% of Sleeper Fantasy leagues. His ownership jumped following Christian Watson being ruled out, and Doubs should be owned in even more leagues than this. As a Packer insider and host of the Lombardi Sweep podcast, let me talk to you about Doubs.

His snap share may be alarming, but this was due to Doubs playing through a hamstring issue of his own. As he gets healthier, he will likely play the most snaps among all wide receivers on the team.

Additionally, I said in training camp that I believed Doubs would be the WR1 for the Packers, and I still believe it now. He showcased the best chemistry with Jordan Love prior to Watson’s injury, and it’s only getting better now. Doubs is also the more skilled receiver of the two. Yes, Watson has God-given physical traits that Doubs will never have. Still, he’s more skilled and there’s no guarantee Watson is able to showcase all of these physical traits this season, due to the hamstring injury that kept him out of Week 1.

Romeo Doubs has the potential to grow into a fantasy football WR2, though he is likely a WR3 or WR4. This is because the Green Bay Packers offense will likely be average at best this season, and I don’t trust the inconsistent arm of Jordan Love. Still, Romeo Doubs looks like one of the best fantasy football waiver wire pickups of NFL Week 2.
