We know there are going to be several serious injuries during the first few weeks of the NFL season. It’s unfortunate, but it’s part of football and fantasy football. In order to keep your team afloat, you have to hit the fantasy football waiver wire early in order to not miss out on the season’s top free-agent additions. While it’s only Week 2, the Puka Nacua fantasy football outlook suggests he could end up being an impactful pickup.

Let’s take a look at the Puka Nacua fantasy outlook and discuss why he is a great fantasy football waiver wire add to make today.

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 2 Pickup: Puka Nacua

Puka Nacua Fantasy Football Week 1 Performance

Any Puka Nacua fantasy football owner was more than delighted to see the rookie’s Week 1 performance. While Nacua played the third-most snaps amongst Los Angeles Rams wide receivers, after Van Jefferson and Tutu Atwell, we saw the same number of passing down snaps (37). He absolutely dominated in target share, seeing 38.9% of the targets from Matthew Stafford.

Nacua turned his 15 targets into 10 receptions for 119 yards, which was good for 21.9 PPR fantasy points. This meant Puka Nacua’s fantasy ranking for the week was WR9.

Puka Nacua Fantasy Football Outlook

Currently, the Puka Nacua fantasy football ownership in Sleeper Fantasy leagues is about 0%, and it will skyrocket after fantasy football waiver wire pickups are processed. The rookie was compared to Cooper Kupp when he was drafted by the Rams. On Fantasy Football by Committee, we discussed how he is the type of project Sean McVay loves, and he could turn into a solid NFL wide receiver. Of course, we didn’t expect it to happen this quickly, and we also didn’t expect the Cooper Kupp injury.

We know Kupp will be out for a minimum of three more weeks. With how serious his hamstring injury sounded, with it seeming like an ongoing issue for him, Kupp could miss more time than that. It appears Puka Nacua will operate in Kupp’s role in the LA Rams offense for now, making him a great fantasy football option. Additionally, if Nacua develops into a player that Matthew Stafford can trust, we could easily see him getting snaps over Tutu Atwell, which means he could continue a fantasy-relevant role alongside Kupp.

For now, Nacua looks to be worthy of a start in fantasy football. When Kupp comes back, Nacua could still possess WR3 upside, making him a great fantasy football waiver wire pickup in NFL Week 2.
