Three fantasy football TE options to stream in NFL Week 12, including Seattle Seahawks’ tight end AJ Barner.
Through 11 weeks of the NFL season, you should have a good idea of what your fantasy football team is. If you are like me, you have been streaming the fantasy football TE position and trying to land on a player that has worked for you. For me, I landed on Zach Ertz. Unfortunately, Ertz is on bye this week. There is a similar situation with Oronde Gadsden. That leaves many in a position where they need a spot start. If that is the case, you need to pick up one of these options to fill in your lineup for Week 12.
That is where I come in. I am going to give you a couple of tight ends owned in under 60% of ESPN fantasy leagues that have the best matchups to be included among our Week 12 TE fantasy football streamers! When you’re done, check out our Week 12 fantasy football rankings!

AJ Barner vs Tennessee Titans (13.2%)
With how good the Seattle Seahawks have been this season, it is somewhat of a surprise that AJ Barner has emerged as the second receiving option in this offense. With all eyes on Jaxon Smith-Njigba, there has been less coverage sent Barner’s way. With Rashid Shaheed in town too, the middle of the field is opened up for Barner to work as an easy target for Sam Darnold. Given Barner’s role on this offense, it does not make much sense that he is available in more than 75% of leagues.
Barner has been solid in the offense this season. Sitting as the 17th-ranked fantasy football TE on the season, Barner has finishes of TE8, TE9, TE1 and TE5. Barner is also coming off the game with his most receptions and targets this season, with 10 catches on 11 targets. That is the kind of volume that I am willing to chase this week when I am looking for a spot start. Barner has scored in double-digits in two of his last three games and has even scored a rushing touchdown this season. So, if the Seahawks find themselves with a fourth-and-goal on the one, Barner may be the one taking the snap.

Juwan Johnson vs Atlanta Falcons (42.4%)
If I told you that the eighth-ranked tight end on the season was available on the waiver wire in Week 12 of the fantasy football season, wouldn’t you immediately run and put a bid in? Well, go ahead and do that, because Juwan Johnson fits that bill. Johnson has quietly been one of the better pickups on the season. He has quickly established himself as the number two option in the Saints’ passing attack. With Tyler Shough at quarterback, having a big-bodied target who can run after the catch as a weapon like Johnson is perfect for the Louisville alum.
When we look at streamers for the tight end position, we are looking for the upside and who can score a touchdown. In Johnson’s case, he has back-to-back games finding the end zone. With the Saints favored by a point and a half in this one against the Falcons, it makes sense for them not to do anything crazy. Johnson is as involved as anyone in this offense and is a low-end TE1 for the rest of the season.
Colston Loveland vs Pittsburgh Steelers (36.9%)
All of a sudden, the Chicago Bears are atop the NFC North and are in position to keep their lead as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. In order to beat the Steelers, though, Chicago will need its playmakers to step up. That includes Colston Loveland. The rookie has seemingly stepped into that receiving tight end role in the Ben Johnson offense that can exploit great tight end matchups. That works out well for the Bears and for your fantasy football team this week, as the Bears take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers have struggled against opposing tight ends this season, as the position has scored 9.4 fantasy points per game this season against them. On the season, the Steelers have given up 671 receiving yards and six touchdowns to opposing tight ends. Loveland has become a great vertical threat down the seam, and with Pittsburgh’s pass rush, Caleb Williams will have to get the ball out quickly. That works well for Loveland this week.
